Come, one and all, to this year’s annual Quidditch Matches! Fly on a broom and win 200 points ($200) for your house. This year, it will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. Be a seeker, chaser, beater, keeper, or just come and watch. Gryffindor has been on a winning streak the last four years. However, with the majority of the team graduating last year, we might have a change in colors.
For Quidditch, a player flies on a broom and scores points for their house. A seeker tries to catch the snitch, the beater throws bludgers (dodgeballs) at the enemy team, chasers throw the quaffle (volleyball) through a set of three hoops, and keepers protect their house’s hoops. Getting the quaffle through a hoop will score your team 10 points, and catching the snitch will award your team 30 points, ending the period.
Look for Quidditch on the homecoming page if you would like to join. If you have any questions, feel free to send an owl to Michael Bauman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Julie Zaruba Fountaine (email@example.com).
