Preview of O Holy Night Choir Concert

The talented choirs of the College of Saint Scholastica are preparing for the upcoming annual O Holy Night choir concert. The choirs participating are Bella Voce, Concert Choir, Cantus Chorde, and Vox Anima. The choirs will be reflecting on the Christmas season through both traditional Christmas songs, as well as holiday music from around the world.

This is the sixth annual O Holy Night concert that the choirs have put on. However, this year’s concert will be especially spectacular. The choirs will be performing in a much larger venue than normal: Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. They are also teaming up with CHUM for the concert, a local volunteer operation that provides emergency shelter, food, and street outreach for those in need.

Dr. Bret Amundson, Director of Choral Activities and Director of General Education, reports that along with the new space, the concert will include portions of audience sing along, which the choirs have never done before. The concert will also include a brass ensemble to enhance the music.

The concert will take place on Dec. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. It is free for students who present their ID, and $10 for general admission.
