Physical Therapy Club Hosts Massage Fundraiser

Emily Kiemele

With finals and due dates looming around the corner, the Physical Therapy Club gave students the perfect opportunity to relax and relieve stress: massage night.

Hosted in the Health and Science building on Nov. 30, the Physical Therapy Club offered massages to the entire Duluth community as a fundraiser for a trip to New Orleans. Physical therapy student, Brittani Brennan reported roughly 105 patients received massages through the club.

Donations given by these patients will go towards a combined sections meeting with national physical therapy classes in New Orleans that the club hopes to attend. The funds raised will help to cover registration, traveling fees, and other expenses. Physical Therapy Club also hosted two massage nights last year, fundraising for the same event.

If you missed this opportunity to destress, the club will be hosting two more massage nights in the spring semester. One will be on Jan. 25, and another closer to finals. The massage nights are a great way to relieve tension and stress while supporting a great cause.
