Benedict would have it no other way. Chapter 53 of The Rule is specifically addressed to The Reception of Guests, and you can probably guess that all guests are to welcomed as Christ. Throughout the rule Benedict makes many comments on welcoming the stranger, and being welcomed while on the road.

As the resident Benedictine Jew for several years, I endorse this totally, and I can’t imagine anyone connected to the Benedictine approach to life coming to any other conclusion.
